Session 3: Arm Building and Body Building

Today we started to test ideas for the arm and body design. With some of us working on the arm and some of us working on the body we were able to cover a lot of ground and finally get an idea of what our final design might look like.

The Arm building went well as we were able to design and build a prototype arm mechanism with the ability to move blocks using MindStorm motors. It went well and we were able to move one block with it at the end. Next week we hope to improve it next week and see if we can get it to move more blocks and even have a feeder and depositer added.

The body went well as we were able to design the base of the chassis. We also built another type of chassis and next week want to test each of them and evaluate which is better suited to our design.

Session 1: Time Plan and Intial Ideas

Today we started our planning and some robot intial ideas. This is the outcome of the first session back. We produced a time plan for the next few weeks and brain stormed as a group on some intial ideas, one of the ideas that everyone seemed to like was the mini crane/ candy grabber. Another idea which popped up was a conveyor belt system.
